Flair Strainers & Filters commenced operations in 2003, manufacturing basket strainers and filter elements for chemical processing units.
The scope of manufacture has since expanded in response to customer requirement โ duplex housings for plants unable to interrupt flow for cleaning, self-cleaning filters as solids loading exceeded what manual cleaning could manage, and three way valves developed in house to match the duplex assemblies to the same standard as the vessel.
Flair is a fabricator rather than a trading house. Every strainer, filter housing and element carrying our name is designed at our own office and manufactured at our own facility.
This has three consequences for the customer:
The equipment is now supplied to refineries, power stations, pharmaceutical plants and water treatment schemes across India and overseas. The method of working has not changed: the customer provides the process conditions, and we size, draw, fabricate and test against them.
Line size, flow rate, fluid, operating temperature and pressure, and the permissible pressure drop. A P&ID extract or specification sheet is preferred.
We calculate the required screen area, select the element type, mesh and material of construction, and submit a general arrangement drawing with the commercial offer.
No material is cut until the drawing is approved. Fabrication, machining and assembly are carried out at the unit against an approved quality assurance plan.
Hydraulic or pneumatic testing, non destructive examination where specified, dimensional and coating verification. Third party inspection is accommodated. Documentation is issued with the unit.
Girish founded Flair in 2003 and has led it since, building the business from basket strainers and filter elements into the full range of housings, automatic filters and valves supplied today. Sizing and design decisions remain his direct responsibility, and he reviews the general arrangement drawing on every order before it is issued for approval. Customers with a difficult set of process conditions usually end up speaking to him.
Nachiketa handles enquiries, quotations and customer accounts across refineries, chemical and pharmaceutical plants, power stations and water treatment contractors. He is the first point of contact for a new requirement, for vendor registration paperwork, and for order status once a job is in the shop. Enquiries reaching him are answered the same working day wherever possible.
